As most of you know, this is a short week. Wednesday is an Early Dismissal Day for all students. They will be released at 12:45 p.m. to begin their Winter Break. Please don’t forget that we have a few events that will make this week exciting.

  • On Tuesday the staff will be dressed as Rock Stars to celebrate the reading efforts of our students who reached 200K minutes!
  • We have our Spelling Bee on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. for grades 3-5.
  • Ms. Spitz and Mrs. Romero will be putting on a Kindergarten Holiday Program for families at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • In accordance with tradition, Wednesday is Pajama Day. Students may “dress down” and come to school in PJ’s. Please, no slippers.

If you have any last minute donations for our “Warm Hands, Warm Feet, Warm Hearts” Mitten and Sock Drive, we will be collecting new items through Tuesday. Thanks for helping us work together to support our community.

As this week comes to a close, I get to reflect on the end of the calendar year and the end of our second quarter. The halfway point is often a great milestone in any journey. It is that point where people decide to push forward or turn around. Once you take one step closer to the finish line, it is senseless to turn back because you are closer to the end than you are to the beginning. Are you ready to take that step forward? At McCartney Ranch, we are!

School will resume on January 9, 2017, after the Winter Break. We are excited to be working with all of you. Let’s all resolve to do something great in 2017!
