Mustang Families,

As you do your annual school shopping, please keep the school dress code in mind. We know that Arizona can be hot, but we want to be sure that students are appropriately and safely covered for the return of the school year. Below is the statement regarding our school dress code that can also be found in the school handbook:

The manner in which children dress when they come to school helps set the tone for learning and behavior.  The following are some important dress code expectations.

  • Torn apparel and clothes are not acceptable.
  • Sagging pants or hanging belts are unacceptable.
  • Bare midriffs and halter-tops are not allowed.
  • All tanks tops must have straps that that are equal to, or greater than, the width of the wearing child’s three fingers (i.e. no spaghetti straps).
  • Any clothing that reveals undergarments is unacceptable.
  • Flip flops are not permitted.
  • Athletic shoes must be worn during P.E.
  • Flat shoes are to be worn at all times.  High heels are not allowed.
  • Clothing/hats with suggestive logos that encourage violence, gangs, drug use, racism, obscene symbols/sayings or other offensive material are unacceptable.
  • Hairstyles should not be disruptive to student instruction and color should be natural.
  • Shorts and skirts must be long enough to reach the student’s fingertips with arms at one’s sides.
  • Visible temporary tattoos are not permitted.
  • Hats may be worn outside.
  • Students who come to school inappropriately dressed may be provided with a change of clothing and parents will be notified (via phone, note, email, or text).
  • If no clothing can be provided, parents may be contacted to bring appropriate clothing before the student may return to class.
