Mustang Families!

Thanks for your flexibility and patience as we work through our arrival and dismissal challenges due to the heavy rains and standing water. We got through it unscathed and hope to have a crew out on campus soon to help rectify our current situation and put preventative measures in place for future incidents.

We are now in our second week of school and it feels like we are already in stride. Teaching and learning is in full force and the students and staff are enjoying the connections, past and current.

The only major event that we have this week is an Early Dismissal Day on Wednesday. Students will be released at 12:45pm so that teachers and staff can spend some additional time collaborating and planning for the first quarter.

As we get into our routines, please keep the following tips in mind as it helps us keep on track throughout the school year:

  • Changes to transportation should be reported to the front office prior to 2:00pm (12:00 pm on Early Dismissal Days). These changes will only be made if a parent/guardian contacts the school office via phone, email, or a written note. Students are not permitted to deliver verbal messages so we can be sure we are meeting the expectations of the parents.
  • We know that it is hot in Arizona. If you want to send your child with a water bottle to use throughout the day, it is certainly encouraged. In addition, student are permitted to wear hats and sunglasses when they are playing outside.
  • With rains come bugs. If your child is sensitive to insect bites, we encourage you to apply your preferred insect repellent on the wet mornings at the beginning and end of the year.
  • We love to celebrate at McCartney Ranch. We know that birthdays are often special times for students to celebrate. If you choose to provide snacks to share for your child’s class, we ask that you choose something healthy. Some ideas include trail mix, granola bars, fruit cups, fresh fruit, dried fruit snacks, etc. Please also check with your child’s teacher to determine if there are any food allergies in the classroom.

I am looking forward to connecting with you each week via these e-alerts. If you would like to get in contact with the school in another way, please reach out to the school office or your child’s teacher via phone or email.

Thank you and have a great week!
