Mustang Families!

Happy Monday. We had a great day experiencing the Solar Eclipse in many different ways. It was great to see everyone come together to ensure that all safety expectations were met while still allowing our students the opportunity to explore a unique educational moment.

Speaking of student safety, we will begin to practice our monthly Fire Drills this week. After your students have experienced our first drill, I would encourage you to talk with them about safety at school and at home. Our students need to know why safety is important and how they can contribute to the safe environment (exist swiftly but quietly, listen to adult directions, remain with staff for security, etc.). If you want to build a real strong connection, you can even come up with a home evacuation plan if you don’t already have one.

Some of you have may heard your students talk about the 7 Mindsets. We have been introducing the 7 Mindsets over the last few days on announcements. This is a program and set of resources that will help us develop who we are as a school and individually. We will support one another and work together to improve our social and academic connections. As your students come home with the 7 Mindsets common language, I would encourage you to talk with them about what they are learning in their class meetings. This positive program has endless benefits, especially when we have family partners. Stay tuned for more information and parents meetings or forums to learn more about the Mindsets and how you can be involved.

Have a great week!
