Mustang Families,

Fall is upon us and we are moving into the end of the quarter. It is no coincidence that our Monthly Mindset, 100% ACCOUNTABLE, connects with many things that are happening this time of year. This particular mindset tells us that we can choose to be responsible for our own success and that we need to be personally accountable for our choices and actions. There are accountability components that we can own (and potentially celebrate) that are coming at us this week and month. The first is the state accountability label and the second is the release of student report card grades. These provide group and individual snapshots of our growth, success and accountability.

With regard to the state accountability label...McCartney Ranch is a B school! This is exciting news as we scored at the top of our district. This also provides some evidence that our  approach to instruction is positively impacting students. We have a focus on academic growth, which hopefully will lead to achievement; and we have a desire to provide positive social/emotional opportunities to our students which can also lead to confidence, competence, and other successful outcomes.

In terms of report cards, these can be viewed as individual accountability labels for each student. We can partner together (during Parent/Teacher Conferences) to celebrate some success and focus our efforts on improving areas that might be causing what the 7 Mindsets calls "limiting beliefs."

As we move through this week, we have a lot of things that will keep us busy. On Tuesday, we will enjoy an assembly focused on being 100% Accountable. Students recent painted rocks with their own messages of accountability that will soon be displayed near the front sidewalks of our campus. Tuesday will be busy as we will also practice a safety measure with bus evacuation drills. Wednesday is an Early Dismissal Day where all students will be released at 12:45 pm. We would also like to invite you to join us on Thursday for another installment of our Brown Bag Lunch!

As you move through this week, I would encourage you to identify what you are 100% ACCOUNTABLE for. Identify your limiting beliefs and the ways that you can overcome them. Talk with your children and family about staying focused on positivity and remember to own and celebrate your success when you achieve something great!

Thanks for all of your ongoing help and support.
