Mustang Families,

Fall is here and Fall Break is around the corner. Please don't send your kids to school next week. :-) However, we have one week of school before break and we are excited about the events that we have planned.

On Tuesday, our 2nd grade students will be headed to the Arizona Science Center for an engaging Field Trip. Kudos to the second grade team who received a grant to pay for the transportation to and from Phoenix. On Wednesday, we have our Monthly Mayor's Reading Club. This means we will have guests in all K-2 rooms spending time reading to our students.

Our most important event (perhaps of the quarter) happens on Thursday and Friday. Both days are scheduled as Early Dismissal days so that we can host Parent/Teacher Conferences. This gives us an opportunity to connect with families to discuss student growth and progress. Students can show off some of their work and be proud of their achievements. As some of you know, family involvement can be one of the largest positive influences in the success of our students. We are truly grateful for the partnerships that we already have and we look forward to strengthening our communication and connection. While we are a B school, we will strive to grow and improve. Through your help and our plan for growth, we hope to move in the direction of an A school for the future.

This week we will continue with our Monthly Mindset of being 100% Accountable. This connects well with the delivery of report cards. Our students can own their success and celebrate their accomplishments all while acknowledging the areas that remain challenging or difficult. They, along with your help, can be part of the plan for personal growth and improvement. They can be 100% ACCOUNTABLE. As a matter of fact, the weekly concentration is "Focus Your Energy." This provides a great spark for family conversations (in the house, car, store, etc.) about how you can and should focus your energy and efforts at home.

Thanks for being our partners in education. We appreciate that you trust us and enjoy the opportunity we have to be accountable together.
