Mustang Families,

We have an exciting week ahead of us but before I get into the details, I do want to take a moment to say thank you to all the veterans and family members of veterans that might be a part of our Mustang family. While Veterans Day came and went over the weekend, it did not pass without me reaching out to the veterans that I have as a part of my life. I appreciate what has been given so that we can experience our opportunities in ways that others around the world might not be lucky enough to experience. Thank you!

This week we have a wonderfully connected science field trip for our 5th graders who will be going to SkyVenture to explore different principles of physics. Classes will attend on Tuesday or Thursday. Please check with our child's teacher regarding the specific day. In addition, the Mayor's Reading Club will return on Wednesday to spend time in K-2 classrooms. We have picture re-takes on Thursday, which is for new students, students absent on picture day, and pre-paid/pre-ordered retakes (please bring the old ones back). Finally, we have our Holiday Meal and Fall Festival on Friday. Both events are sure to be a great time for all families that are able to attend. I hope to see you all here!

This week, as we continue to explore our new mindset, ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE, we will hear a message about TREASURING YOURSELF. Students will be encouraged to recognize that they are different and realize that they are made out of more wonderful things than not. We can flourish when we become grateful for our strengths, uniqueness, differences, and abilities. We will talk about focusing on what we have and showing our gratitude by cherishing and developing our own treasures and talents. What unique skills do you have that you might be grateful for? What skills can you develop and shine so that you flourish in ways that others can be grateful for your positive impact. This might be a great conversation topic as you spend family time together throughout the week.

As always, thanks for the support. Have a great week!
