Mustang Families,

Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break. I hope that you were able to spend some time doing that things that makes your family unique and happy.

As we move through the last week of November and into December (it will be here on Friday), I realized that this is the time of year where I often ask myself, "Where has the time gone?!" After I step back to refocus my perspective, I often see that time does truly fly when it is filled with fun experiences and opportunities. Since August, our students and staff have accomplished so many things that it is actually hard to believe that it has only been 4 months. It is amazing what some reflection will do to perspectives.

This week is another busy one from start to finish. We will have the Lions Club on campus on Monday to finish our vision screenings. On Tuesday I will be hosting my favorite monthly day, our Leader Lunch. Wednesday is busy with Early Dismissal at 12:45 pm and our PTO sponsored Chick-Fil-A Family Night in the evening. In addition to these events, our classes will soon be starting benchmark assessments to evaluate mid-year growth and goals. We are excited to see that data which will paint a picture of what is going well and what we need to strengthen. Lastly, don't forget that we will continue to hold Harkins purchases in the front off and you can continue to pick them up throughout the week at your convenience.

As we continue through the next two months, our Mindset will continue to be ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. In particular, this week, our food for thought is to THANK IT FORWARD. On Monday morning, our students will hear the message about sharing gratitude and how it makes the giver and receiver both feel happiness and positivity. This message is one that might start some great conversations with your children about how to show gratitude and appreciation. We all speak different languages of appreciation and sometimes knowing the person and their particular "language" is just as important as the gratitude itself. Maybe you can talk someone to say thanks. Perhaps a small gift/token is better suited for the situation. Maybe you can praise them to their boss or colleague so they hear that your appreciation is spread further. Want to reach more? about using social media to "tag" or "like" a person or situation and sharing a short positive message of thanks. Whatever your creative way of connecting might be, I am sure that it too will be appreciated. Let's teach and model gratitude together so we can see it and watch it grow together in the future.

Have a great week!
