Mustang Families,

I hope that you all have a great week. Many will say that "love is in the air" since we have Valentine's Day on Wednesday. While I appreciate the sentiment and extra attention to care for others, I like to think that love is in the air everyday at McCartney Ranch. If you didn't know, the Greek language has many ways to express love for others. However, I truly believe that the actions of good educators are simply demonstrations of love that far outnumber the vernacular variants found in the Greek language. We have a staff of over 60 people and I love them like they are my own family, but that is mostly due to what I have observed them do for others. We have almost 700 students with unique traits and qualities that are all valuable parts of our Mustang Family. We love them all.

This week, we will continue to LIVE TO GIVE. In particular, our students will be focused on "making a difference." Today they heard a message that encouraged them to reach out and give to others so that they are able to create and find value in their own lives. How do you make a difference for others? Have you set out to make a difference as a family? Perhaps others have made a difference for you and you are able to make that connection with your children through dinner table (or other locations) conversations.

This week is busy with Jump Rope for Heart. Students can continue to collect donations and return them to Coach throughout the week. We also have several field trips this week with 2nd grade going to the CG Museum on Tuesday and Thursday, while the 4th grade will be headed to Mesquite on Thursday for Project WET. Don't forget that we will continue After School Clubs on Thursday for those that are registered. Lastly, we have an early release day on Wednesday. Please make sure you have your transportation arrangements made ahead of time.

I want to take a moment to thank our PTO and our volunteers (staff and parents) that worked tirelessly to make sure that our young ladies had a great time at the Prince Charming Social last Friday. This year, I got to participate as a father of a student and I hope that everyone had as much fun as my daughter and I did. I spent the evening both as a happy dad, and as a proud principal. I know that moments like this will lead to lasting memories. We cannot experience these events without the support and effort of all of our volunteers. On behalf of all participants, THANK YOU!

Have a great week!
