Mustang Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I want to inform you all that I met with the McCartney Ranch staff today to share the news that I have been asked to step into a different role for next year. At the start of the 2018-2019 school year, we will have a new Principal at McCartney Ranch. Beginning in July, I will assume the responsibilities of Principal at Cactus Middle School. I am humbled and honored to be given this new opportunity, but I also know that change can bring about various emotions of uncertainty and I want to be delicate as I share this news with our young students.

Many of you know that I spent 5 years here as a P.E. teacher and the last 4 years here as the Principal. This school has been a home to me for a substantial period of my life. I have enjoyed every moment on this campus and I will treasure all of the fond memories that I have. The impact of the students, staff, and families is something that I will not forget as I will be forever grateful for the support and care that you have all shown.

I am excited to announce that the new Principal at McCartney Ranch will be Jessica Quinones. Some of you know that she also happens to be my wife and the mother of one of our Mustangs. She is coming to us with a wealth of experience in education. She has been with the District for 13 years, with 8 of those years spent in administration as a TOA at Saguaro and Assistant Principal at CGMS. She has a shared passion for students and their growth and progress. Jessica was raised as an outdoor loving cowgirl and rancher that will fit well into the Mustang scene!

Mrs. Q. will soon be setting up some time to spend on campus at McCartney Ranch as she works to get to know the students, staff, and families. She is excited to share her ideas and continue the tradition of setting high expectations for our students and celebrating them as they grow and achieve. She is committed to our school mission, "Success through inspiration, connection, and opportunity."

Please know that my heart and mind will continue to be with the students, staff, and families at McCartney Ranch for the remainder of the school year. I will work to ensure that there is a smooth transition for all involved. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

I am truly appreciative of all of your support over the years. The personal relationships that I have with so many of you make this difficult for me personally, but I am excited for the future we have together. I will continue to be involved on campus, but next year I will just be a volunteer and father.

With gratitude,

Bob Quinones
