Mustang Families,

This week we will begin to explore one of my favorite mindsets. Our students will begin to hear the message about WE ARE CONNECTED. Years before we began the 7 Mindsets program, we purposefully used the word "connect" within our mission statement. The value of connections is endless. As we begin to explore this mindset, we will first focus on the component of embracing everyone. We are told that people we come into contact with can help us, hurt us, or have no impact at all. We want to use diversity as a uniting force rather than a factor of division. Students will be taught to focus on how they can connect with others to discover how people may help them and how they may help others. Well connected people tend to live great lives and we want all of our students to position themselves to connect with others and to want others to benefit from connecting with them.

We have a few important calendar events this week:
- Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.
- Friday we will be visited by the CAC Rodeo Team. They will spend time connecting with out 4th grade students at an assembly.
- We have our monthly Fire Drill planned for this week. Practicing these procedures is necessary to ensure that we are prepared.

If you have not already received information about P/T Conferences, please be checking your child's backpack. Participating in conferences is a great way to staff connect with your child, his or her teacher, and our school. We hope that you all can participate.

I hope that you all have a great week!
