Mustang Families,

Welcome back! I hope that you had a break filled with everything you were hoping for. Some want rest and relaxation while others prefer excitement and energy. No matter what you enjoy, the opportunity to disconnect from a regular routine is important for everyone (kids and adults). We need to be able to enjoy our breaks and our personal time so that we may also refocus on our goals and things that we see as important.

As you know, we are continuing our 7 Mindsets efforts for the remainder of the year. As we close out this month, we will close out our mindset of WE ARE CONNECTED. This week in particular, we will talk with our students about leading with value. This is a particularly important message for children to hear as they begin to differentiate between a "leader" and a "boss." Collaborative and servant leadership serves a true purpose and providing our students with these opportunities will only help to give them the tools to be successful in the future. As you think about this at home, perhaps you can give them leadership responsibilities in your house that will validate their skills and benefit the rest of your family. In my house, this started as simple chores and has evolved into sharing ideas about working together to make our home better.

Although we have a short week, it is a busy one. Please take note of some of the special events:

- Leader Lunch is on Tuesday
- Awards Assemblies are on Wednesday at 1:00 and 2:00
- Thursday we have a Holiday Meal, PTO Meeting, and After School Clubs
- Friday the school will be closed for in-lieu day

Thanks for your ongoing support. Here's to a great 4th quarter!
